Welcome to salads & bowls. This is the place to find a variety of plant-based, oil free recipes. All the dishes you will discover here are designed to maximize flavor and satisfaction. Guilt-free cooking and eating doesn't mean that you will miss out on a variety of tastes, textures and ingredients.
Salads must be creative, loaded with flavor and not leave you longing for something more. Here you'll find a variety of ideas and I hope you'll fall in love with a few of them. My approach to salads is that they should make a complete meal. No more of those 'dieter' salads with a few greens and veggies and thin dressings. These are meant to be stick-to-the ribs eats - if I intend any of my salads to be sides, I'll let you know that up front. Otherwise, these are meals on their own.
Bowl recipes are meant to deliver a complete meal so all will contain a variety of fresh veggies or fruits, a grain and a legume or bean. Portability is a major consideration for every bowl recipe I post. Look for tips about toting and storing. You deserve a great bowl of food - no matter where you eat it.
Every salads & bowl recipe is finished off with an oil free dressing or sauce. Many can be interchanged with other recipes. Experiment away. The experience of food should be just as rewarding as the guilt-free nutrition you'll get from every one of these recipes.
