- ¼ cup tahini see notes
- 2 cloves garlic peeled and quartered
- ½ cup cilantro roughly chopped
- ½ cup parsley roughly chopped
- ¼ cup lemon juice 1 fresh lemon
- 1 tablespoon white balsamic vinegar white balsamic condiment
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2-4 tablespoons water
Add the ingredients plus 2 tablespoons of water to a blender or food processor.
Start blending on a low speed, then add more water as needed until you have a creamy sauce.
Scrape the sides and underneath the blade to pick up any large pieces of garlic or herbs.
Taste and adjust the seasonings.
- If your tahini contains added salt, wait to add more until you blend and taste the sauce.
- Servings and nutrition are based on 2 tablespoons (¾ cup total).
- You can add any herbs you have on hand to total 1 cup. Basil, dill, chives, or mint are good options.
- Tahini sauce may thicken as it stands or after refrigerating. Stir well and add more water or lemon juice before serving.
- Store tahini sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days or freeze for 3 months. Note - the sauce may lose some of the bright color after freezing.
